Jessica Hardy Wins 100m Breaststroke Title on Night Three of 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in Palo Alto
On night three at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in Palo Alto, Team Speedo USA’s Jessica Hardy won gold and the national title in the women’s 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:06.81. It has been a strong summer for Hardy, who won gold in the 50m breaststroke and was part of the silver-medal-winning women’s 4x100m freestyle relay at last month’s FINA World Championships in Shanghai. Congratulations Jessica!
Competition continues Friday with the men’s 100m freestyle, women’s 200m butterfly, men’s 200m IM, women’s 200m backstroke and men’s 4x200m free relay.
The event will serve as the selection meet for the 2011 Pan American Games, October 15-22 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships, August 16-21 in Lima, Peru. NBC will air packaged shows on Aug. 6 from 4-6 p.m. and Aug. 7 from 5-6pm ET. Prelims begin at 9 a.m. PT each morning with finals beginning at 6 p.m. PT; and all sessions will also be webcast live at www.usaswimming.org/nationals.
