Sometimes being an elite athlete comes with perks you wouldn't ever dream of. For example, I got to be a guest presenter on the Price Is Right TV show this week! I had a few speaking lines, got to have my hair/makeup done (& be girly for a change), and meet all of the sweet & funny crew (including Drew Carey) on set! I had the time of my life filming it, and I wanted to show you a picture I had my mom take of me posing with the set backstage.

I have officially completed my 2011 LCM! I ended with winning the 100 breaststroke at US Nationals on Thursday night, after coming straight to the meet off of winning a World Championship title in Shanghai only 4 nights before.

I finally got to swim on the last two days of the World Champs, swimming in the finals of both the 50 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle. These two races happened to be less than 15 minutes apart. I got the short end of the stick with the event organization, having 6 days off in the middle of the meet, and no recovery time when it finally WAS time for me to swim. I am a superstitious athlete. Some of the rituals i like to do before I find myself at race day include, getting a mani/pedi (I'm rcokin' hot pink this week), putting on my lucky earrings (my great-grandmother's beautiful diamond earrings), completely shaving down every hair of my body (took almost 2 hours, yikes), and update my ipod with music that will get my adrenaline pumping.
